Summer Fun at Busch Gardens
It was a summer day in mid July and I had just turned 10. My grandparents and I had planned my birthday party to be at Busch Gardens for it was my favorite place to go! I invited a few people I knew in the area and we all met at my place. I remember my grandparents packing a cooler full of juices and sandwiches for the food their was always expensive. My two friends Crystal and Stefanie (my friends till this day) came along. We all hopped into the car with sunglasses, hats on, and started to apply sunblock as we all planned on running to the entrance as to not waste a minute!
Shortly after arriving at the park, we were discussing plans for the day. Which rides we would go on, and how many times we were going to go on them. I had never been on the Big Bad Wolf and I was excited to try it. Crystal and Stefanie had been on it already and kept telling me that my fear of the ride had to go! We placed a bet that if I went on it and liked the ride that I had to go on it a second time by myself! I accepted the challenge, knowing that I was so afraid of going on it alone.
We approached the Big Bad Wolf and stood in line. As we kept getting closer and closer to the top of the line my fears got worse and worse. I was not looking forward to this. I had no idea why, but I was afraid of this one ride. I was not sure if it was the name of the ride, or the stories I had heard about it that made me afraid.
Finally, the time came. We got into our seats and the ride was about to start. Before I could change my mind and ask to get off the ride had started! We were moving. I closed my eyes and thought if I didn’t look that I would be ok. Well about 10 seconds later I had to open my eyes for I realized I had to see what was going on around me to make sure I was ok. I was excited. The ride was not even as bad as I had imagined. My friends were true friends! They helped me accomplish a goal I had never even set! Wow I loved my friends!
So, because I liked the ride I went on it alone the next time. I got back into line and as I was getting into my seat. A cute boy named Chris sat next to me. I learned his name as he asked if he could sit next to me after introducing himself. I said yes of course because he was cute! I asked him if he had been on the ride before and he said no. I told him there was nothing to be afraid of and that this was only my second time on the ride.
After it was over Chris told me he was there with his two friends and his grandparents as well. We all met up and it turned out that his grandparents knew my grandparents! We all hung out for the rest of the day and his two friends even liked my two friends!
I had such a great time, and Chris and I are even friends till this day!
I love Busch Gardens because new things happen, friends are made, good times happen, and goals are accomplished. The excitement and thought alone of the new rides and entertainment give me hope that times like the ones I explained can happen to me again and everyone else!
