Given that in 2000 there were 197,790 and assuming that all the lawyers listed in the Verizon superpages directory actually live in Richmond that would mean that a 2.25% of the entire population of Richmond are lawyers. Thats an astounding number by any measure. What could they all possibally be doing ?

To put it in perspective if you laid all the Richmond lawyers end to end they would stretch nearly five miles long. If you placed the attorneys all on a scale the would weigh over 370 tons. Is there really many disagreements in Richmond that five miles of lawyers are neccesary to resolve them ?

Perhaps the dense mass of attorneys in Richmond is caused by some sort of unnatural force. Maybe a blackhole type of anomally, that once an attorney is caught in the grips of can never escape. We could name it even, maybe “The Richmond Attorney Blackhole”. I dunno.. what ever is occuring here its incredibly strange.
