The information posted about the Hershee Bar is incorrect. It is not closed and will not be closing. It’s ranked in the top ten lesbian bars on the east coast.

I will be visiting VA my girl friend and i would like to go to the happen gay bar in VA would that be Hershee Bar and if so what are the best days to go and we are into hip hop & R&B music if someone can recommend some place that would be great…Thank you

I’ve never been to Hershee’s, but I have heard that its a good time. I have been to the Wave. Its a good bar and is pretty fun every day of the week.

Hershee is a alright bar. It cannot be consider a lesbian bar anymore since gay men are there also. The only flaws I can really say about Hershee is the bathroom, something really need to be done to improve the accomodation and the dance floor need to expand. Need to have a more experience DJ on Sundays so we do not have to listen to the Judebox all night. I stop going on Tuesday night because of all the fighting going on.

hershee’s really needs a dj that doesn’t suck or get annoyed by requests. i can only listen to the same song twice in one night and it has to be good. this place needs some bathroom renovations, and more bartenders when its going to be busy. i shouldn’t have to wait 20 mins for a drink. other then that its a chill place

HERSHEE’S SUCKS. THEY PLAY COUNTRY MUSIC WITH A LIVE ROCK BAND. THEY PLAY THE SAME SONG AGAIN AND AGAIN. THE BATHROOM IS THE SIZE OF A CLOSET IN AN EFFICIENCY APT. i was at the Garage on May 4th and it was really cool. even though it was a sunday night there were alot of people there and the bar tender actually knew how to bartend…i will be going back soon on my next visit!
