We are a bar/restaurant/nightclub at the Va Beach oceanfront that is gay-friendly and we are hosting our first gay event on Thursday Oct. 14 called “Gay Mardi Gras Party”. We have 2 floors, one smoking and one non-smoking, each with it’s own bar and restrooms. We would like to be listed on your site as we plan on doing Gay themed nights on a regular basis. I have or WAS a loyal customer for 5 years now. The transfer of ownership has led to drink prices increasing, that’s assuming you get a drink because the lines are LONG as f*ck. You get your hand stamped for no reason, if you leave you have to wait in line again (but atleast you don’t have to pay the cover again, which is steadily going up over the few years I’ve been here). The security is AVERY aggressive and EXTREMELY rude, not only have I seen it but experienced it first hand. I leaned up against a pool table kinda leaning/sitting on it and a security guard who I had never seen before came up and grabbed my arm in a COMPLETELY unacceptable way. I pat on the shoulder I can understand but there is NO reason to get physical. My boyfriend and I were already on our way out so when he told us to leave after i snatched my arm back and told him not to touch me like that. Then at the door I turned to say something to my boyfriend and the midget security guard that grabbed me flipped out and threw me out while the guy at the door held my boyfriend from coming outside. Meanwhile the napoleon complex guard had me chicken winged against the wall for NO REASON other than me laughing at him because the whole situation was thrown WAY outta hand by him. So if that’s how they treat their loyal customers I figure I won’t go back there again, good thing there are other places like The Ambush, The Wave, In-Between, Garage….OTHER PLACES that are MUCH better at keeping their customers. I was the only one of my friends that actually liked going there, well now they lost a lot of customers because of their staff. And you will not find me or my boyfriend or any of our friends at that crappy bar again!

I’m about two years late on this, but to SH I’d just like to say that I am a gay male and I hate that faggot music. I’d much rather hear rap or “gangsta music” as you call it than to watch a bunch of methed out white boys with no rhythm. Keep ur ass at home.

No more of this damned hip hop and gangster rap played at a gay bar. For the love of God, play gay dance music (vocal house). We can go to just about any straight bar and hear the thug music. Is this why the comment above stated that there were fights at the places that this crap is played? Straight people and lesbians love that rap crap, but for the rest of the gay community, it’s a damn insult. Give us a break with this prison thug music. Have you forgotten what you stand for??????

I’m very closeted and discreet and I really like In Between for it’s laid-back attitude and friendly atmosphere. It;s a fun place to hang out and make new friends. Most importantly, it’s got a very attractive and mature crowd. I go there every chance I get.

I spent about 2 years in Norfolk and I will say the bst club in that area is the IN Between… I loved the people there.. the owners are the nicest people and they have the best shows. I would say they are the best… hugs and kisses from Italia.

I won’t be returning to the cactus. On friday night my bf and I decided to step outside for a bit because it was so incredibly hot in there, 5 minutes tops. We had our hand stamped on exit and when leaving were asked by the security if we were leaving, of course we answered no and stood maybe 10 feet away from the guard that asked. When we tried to re-enter we were told we had to stand in live because they were at capacity. When I requested being let in to close my tab I was told no. When I asked when the policy started I was told it was always like that, a lie. They get no more of my money.
