Electronic Dance Music Nightlife in Virginia is hard to find. Visitors and newcomers interested in something out side the top forty scene are lost if they do not know anyone in the area.

There are several nightlife regions for the state of Virginia, not surprisingly they correspond with the major metropolitan regions of the state. In order of size they are:

Washington DC:

DC is right on the border of Virginia and provides the most options for dance music nightlife. If you live in Northern Virginia yo are most likely going to go to DC or if your close enough make the drive to Richmond. The most established dance music clubs in DC are Nation and Club Five.

Richmond:
Richmond is the state capitol and has a vibrant dance music community that is actively supported by many small business owners. The established dance night clubs are Europa and Bojangles. There is a newcomer on to block that appears to be here to stay called Life.

Hampton Roads:
Hampton Roads consists of Norfolk, Chesapeake, Virginia Beach, Newport News, Hampton the primary established EDM clubs are the Granby Theater and Ambush

Roanoke and Blacksburg:

To a lessor extent some people also go to Windsor NC and Raleigh NC also influence the Virginia Electronic Dance Music scene.
